OKO OLO is a multi-disciplinary creative partnership, comprisedof Genevieve Hromas and Juliet Ramsey based in Sydney,Australia. With 50 years of combined design and art-makingexperience between them, working across disciplines; fromfunctional sculpture, textiles and printmaking, to interiorarchitecture. Both are fascinated by the possibilities of re-imagining new purposes and combinations of found objects,through the exploration of materials from the natural andmanufactured world.
In conversation since childhood, Genevieve and Juliet’s growthas creatives stems from a long, deep shared experience. Thiscommon ground gives the collaboration a shorthand, fluidity,and strength. Whether in reverence to past makers, or afascination with contemporaries, this constant discourseinforms and inspires their practice.‘Ocean Stones’ A facsimile of something that may seemcommon to the eye, rendered in a distinctly different material.Elevated, these objects seek to change perceptions around theinherent beauty of nature.
