All of Haug’s eponymous studio’s pieces are born out of collaboration with the whole team working together out of a converted 1940’s warehouse to create concepts, choose materials and deliver custom pieces.
ME AND YOU
Designed in partnership with Flack Studio Me and You is a result of minor calamity, a fixed constraint, a creative simpatico, shared aesthetic sensibilities, and a long history of friendship. Through rapid-fire ideation, prototyping and iteration, the collection launched at 2024 Milan Design Week.
As the name suggests, Me and You speaks to the collaboration, but also to the inherent interplay of light and space – a relationship that the studios believe is perhaps the most important decision of the design process. The duet between lighting and its environments determines atmosphere, and softspokenly holds immerse power in form an experience.
Established in inner Sydney in 2012, the Studio Henry Wilson collection is characterised by utilitarianism and sculpture with focus on form and function.
Armadillo’s Panorama collection evokes the sweeping landscape of an old-world homestead perched in the bucolic hills, with an exquisite melange of weaves that redefine sophisticated comfort. From the cocooning to the free flowing, each space layered with this tapestry of textures becomes a true haven.
A collection of future classics is inspired by designs from around the globe that have stood the test of time. Handcrafted by old world artisans to highlight sumptuous materials, meticulous weaves and precocious textures, these enduring designs deftly blend form and function.
Nicole Lawrence (b. 1993) is a Melbourne-based designer and maker specialising in furniture and lighting. Balancing structural purpose with artistic freedom, Lawrence draws on her technical expertise from over a decade of working with a myriad of materials and her process-led methodology to create contemporary, collectible pieces.
