POTTER DS

Designed by Bruce Rowe, the ceramic Potter DS wall and pendant lights are the outcome of a creative and technical collaboration with Anchor’s long-term lighting partner, Rakumba Lighting and master potter, Michael Skewes.

Designed and made using a hybrid process of traditional ceramic techniques and contemporary digital tools, the Potter DS is simple and refined and focuses on the essential beauty of the material to direct and reflect light.

The external simplicity of Potter DS houses integrated aluminium and acrylic extrusions, and a highly resolved LED lighting solution to produce a unique linear pendant. After an initial firing, the fittings are hand-finished with glazes developed specifically for our lighting collection and then fired one final time. The clay body and glaze fit are developed together.

POTTER LIGHT

The elemental geometric form of the Potter Light is both simple and architectural in its design. Wheel-thrown by master potter Michael Skewes, Potter Light’s fittings are made using a selection of high-quality Australian stoneware and earthenware clay bodies. Each fitting is imbued with subtle differences in finish and form inherent to an authentically handcrafted object, and the electrical componentry has been designed to complement the handmade nature of ceramic.

Sourced from a producer in Tasmania, Australia, the porcelain used to make the Potter Halo is internationally regarded as one of the finest in the world. Its highly refined nature produces a semi-translucent surface that glows softly when illuminated from within.
